About Age(less) Artists

We are a group of Seniors that enjoy art of all types and love to create our own.  We range in age in our 70’s and 80’s.  Many of us have years of experience and some have a few years and were interested after retirement.

We first formed our group at the Hammond Street Senior Center in 2005.

After the center closed in 2015, we worked hard to stay together as a group and have a place to meet once a week and paint. The Community Center in Veazie rents us a function room on Monday mornings.  As important as the painting is to us, we appreciate the social part of getting together.  We celebrate birthdays and have potluck gatherings a couple times a year.  We welcome newcomers that are interested in paint or doing their craft.  We do not teach but are always willing to help others.

We work in every medium of watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastels, charcoal and pencil drawing.  Some take lessons outside of class.  Many do other forms of art such as jewelry, knitting, crocheting and glass painting.

We do art shows and collectively have exhibited around the area at Bagel Central, Eastern Maine Community College, Bangor Library, Bangor City Hall, Edyth Dyer Library in Hampden, Belfast Senior College and other one day shows.
