Dane Kelly is a born and raised Mainer who fell in love with comics when a friend in middle school let him borrow her copy of ‘Full-Metal Alchemist’. Since then, he’s amassed a comic collection big enough to spill from his shelves and take over the bedroom floor. Dane now spends just as much time making comics as reading them, focusing on character driven work. He’s received 3rd place in the ‘Voyce.Me Grand Slam’ and an honorable mention in the ‘Webtoon Legends 2025’ for his art. He is currently working as a colorist and background artist with the hope of going from part time to full time comic creator.

Dane’s art focuses on bold, graphical qualities like thick lineart and eye-catching colors. His illustrations have a strong character focus and use these elements to accentuate the focal point. This combined with stylized characters and simple half tone texturing used for the lighting gives his illustrations a distinctly comic book feel. Which shouldn’t be a surprise, given the state of his bedroom.
