From the Artist

Driven by a lifelong appreciation of pop art, my artwork explores the beauty of everyday settings and objects. Through vibrant still lifes of home interiors and ordinary objects, I try to capture moments that often go unnoticed. Using a variety of mediums, I aim to bring energy and nostalgia to the familiar. Each piece is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the spaces and items that shape and encompass our daily lives, helping make the mundane more meaningful. My desire to create daily artwork stems from my natural preference for solitary activities requiring intense focus, which has always helped me mentally unwind at the end of a long day.

About the Artist

Griffin Parrott is an artist originally from Atlanta, Georgia who recently moved to Surry, Maine in the summer of 2023. She is a speech-language pathologist during the daytime, working with ages K-12th grade. Griffin began doing digital art during lockdown in May of 2020 after schools became virtual and she needed a way to illustrate personalized stories for her students using green screen activities. Shortly after that, she became interested in using traditional art mediums, picking up her first set of oil paints in the summer of 2021. Griffin set a goal to begin a daily art practice using small canvases in order to build up her stamina and learn the basics. Since then, she has explored a variety of mediums, including gouache, acrylic, graphite, alcohol markers, colored pencil, and even Bic Cristal ink pens. Griffin still considers oil paint to be her preferred medium.
