From the Artist
My explorations in photography began more than 50 years ago when I received a Kodak “Brownie” camera as a birthday gift.

Pictures of family, friends and less-than-enthusiastic pets fascinated me as an 11-year-old and created a love of photographic images (my own and those of others), which continues today.

Over the years I have acquired more sophisticated equipment including 35mm and 2 ¼” medium format film cameras and in recent years some of the latest digital cameras, lenses and computer software.

Over the past decades I completed “wet” darkroom instruction and joined professional photographers for “master” classes. One of those I credit is Stonington, Maine’s Terrell Lester.

A long-time member of Eastern Maine Camera Club (EMCC), my slides, prints and digital images have earned numerous awards over the years in intra-club and All Maine statewide competitions, and in New England Camera Club Conference events.

I have also co-produced numerous special projects and events for the club including two “Art for Acadia National Park” competition fundraisers and EMCC’s International Slide Exhibitions with sister organizations in Ireland, Denmark and Canada.

Most recently, I have become a member of the statewide Union of Maine Visual Artists.

My photographic adventures take me all over Maine and New England, France, Quebec, Atlantic Canada and Ireland, where favorite subjects include land- and seascapes, close-up and macro photographs and photographic studies of historic and “significant” structures.

I sincerely hope you enjoy looking at these and other work in my exhibition.
