About the Artist
Kassie is a multimedia painter and illustrator based in central Maine, where she draws deep inspiration from nature, color, and everyday fruits and vegetables. She grew up in Holden, Maine. She spent some years living in New Hampshire and has a BFA in Studio Art from Plymouth State University (Class of 2021).
She began taking art seriously early in her high school career, and started out by drawing the characters she loved most from various television shows. With the encouragement of family, teachers, and many more, she began to pursue art in her free time, and eventually chose to pursue a higher education in art, where she developed a particular love for still lives and landscapes.
Today, she spends her days working at a statewide land trust, and her evenings painting, planning new work, and spending time with family.
Kassie’s work is rooted in vibrant color, expressive linework, and organic subjects like fruits, plants, and natural forms. Influenced by abstract expressionism, she explores the beauty of color through depictions of the natural world. She aims to create pieces that bring the viewer joy and wonder.
