The Bangor Public Library believes in your right to privacy.  Our policy for those donating on-line is to use your information for internal purposes only.  We maintain appropriate security measures to keep this information private.

Users can visit the library sites without revealing any personal information. If one chooses to give us personal information via the Internet for the purposes of correspondence, requesting library materials, or subscribing to a library publication, we will tell you how we will use that information.

If members or donors tell us that they do not wish to have personal information used for further contact, we will respect those wishes. We do reserve the right to keep track of the domains from which people visit us should we wish to analyze this data for trends, insights and statistics.  After the analysis, we will discard the information. Information may be maintained on an “opt-in” basis for communications and library services.

The Bangor Public Library takes precautions to keep user data secure.  Information will not be disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and to ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. The Bangor Public Library uses SSL encryption for all financial transactions to protect personal information.

The Bangor Public Library does not rent, exchange or sell donors’ or potential donors’ names and addresses or users’ names and addresses to outside businesses.
