What is a Maine Story? Chapter Two: Community Portraits

As part of our 2024 theme – What is a Maine Story? – we are gathering stories and images from the people who make up the place we call Maine.

An exhibit of community portraits will be on display throughout the library during February and March. These portraits will be joined in March by 12 portraits from Robert Shetterly's series, Americans Who Tell the Truth.

Community portraits include artwork by individual artists and artwork from students at Fruit Street School, Fairmount School, Brewer High School, and Bangor High School.

We will also have a guide to select portraits from the Bangor Public Library's collection plus 4 portraits on loan from the Bangor Historical Society.
