Maine, and the Bangor area in particular, has long been associated with Stephen King. He has acknowledged that the town of “Derry” which is featured in several of his books, is Bangor.
The book It in particular has many mentions of Bangor-like locations, including the Bangor Public Library. In celebration of the publication of It on September 15, 1985 and of Stephen King’s birthday on September 21st, the library has information and commemorative pins available during the last two weeks of the month.
